I was attending the Tony Robbins conference next door and was tired of the concessions at the arena, so we stepped out and came over here as it was close and convenient. We were greeted at the door and picked a table to sit. I went to the bar and ordered a beer and then sat down and perused the menu. My Hefeweizen beer was cold and fresh, just like in Germany. So far, so good. My friend and I decided we wanted a pretzel and the "German Wurst Platter" but we only wanted the traditional Bratwurst and the Spicy Cheddar Brats, which they happily agreed to. Service was quick, they gave you a beeper, and a few minutes later, our pretzel was ready- it was hot and soft and chewy and delicious, as was the beer-cheese sauce served with it. A few minutes later, the beeper went off again, and there was our platter, we were both impressed by how large it was! I have spent a lot of time in Germany and I must say, this food was comparable- the brats were outstanding. Service was friendly and the vibe was great. I had another beer and then we headed back to the conference, bellies full and a bit more relaxed. I would love to come here during a hockey game, I am sure it would be lots of fun!!
I've been here a numerous times, and probably forgot my debit card once or twice. They have an AMAZING beer selection, especially for IPA fans who barely find anything good. The food is great too, and I'd wholeheartedly recommend the mac and cheese bites because they are the best thing ever, along with the French onion soup. Next I would recommend cheddar Bratwurst platter, comes with a lot of fries, and the sausage is always on point. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is getting into a fight with another fan because if you are looking for help you, they will not. They had no functioning cameras, they knew the other person was being a problem, and just threw their hands on the situation. Very nonchalant and annoying. We still come here like the dedicated fans we are, and it's right across the stadium from the Prudential Center.
Service was great, they put on a great event for the breakdancing Olympic watch party!
We were looking for a place within walking distance of our hotel to grab some lunch and drinks before a concert at the NJPAC. We decided to stop in here to check it out. Our bartender was very welcoming and immediately asked us if we wanted to sample any of their several beers on tap. They obviously had several German style beers, but they had a decent selection of other beers/ciders, too. We ordered the nachos and a couple drinks. The nachos were piled high with pulled pork BBQ and fixins. They were delicious. My husband really enjoyed the beers he ordered (the Dunkel, Devils Brew, the Hoboken Brewery beer, and the blood orange IPA). I drank the grapefruit beer with a shot of vodka in it (recommended by the bartender) and it was REALLY good. We wanted to come back to this place after the concert, but unfortunately they were already closed for the night. We would definitely stop in again if we're in the area.
Dropped in here to get a drink before a concert. The Devil's Brew is quite good. Goes down smooth and the aftertaste is quite pleasant. The fries are quite crispy and thick. There's obviously a lot of German food here, mostly wurst (sausage). Everything does seem quite overpriced here, but I expected as much being so close to the prudential center. Other than that, there's plenty of table, bench, and bar seating, and TVs for watching sports games. Order at the bar and pickup non-drink items at the side area. Bathrooms are surprisingly quite clean.
My nephew loves coming here before a hockey game and it was my first time going with him and I have to say I definitely enjoyed the place. We did not eat there, and I have to admit I got a little overwhelmed because it was so busy and just loud with screaming Devils fans so my anxiety kicked in, but I have to say for the amount of people that were in there. The bartenders were friendly and so efficient we actually ended up not waiting at all. We walked right up and got our two drinks and even had a second shot. It is a little pricey for the area, but it's not like we were staying there all night drinking. I thought it was really cool that they had all tables outside and it was just a bunch of people hanging out having a great time. I would definitely return here.
This place has the best location! It is located right next to the prudential center and all the Newark business buildings. Perfect place to stop by before a game or event with two bar areas and huge tables for big groups. They have tables everywhere from the main area to a quieter location in the back to the hallways. If you want to order some food you just go to the food ordering window. The system is really efficient. The focus is serving the customers their alcohol! Disclaimer. This place is very busy on game days, and if prudential is hosting an event then there is no happy hour that day.
The happy hour deals are LIT. Thank you Redd's for bringing back happy hour specials post covid! The bartenders and servers have always been really friendly here too. The pretzels and beer are excellent.
